The Uptown Live Summer Series returns to New West in 2026 with 24 days of programming, including three expanded themed days. From June 27 to September 13, the free live music series will run for 12 weekends on both Saturdays and Sundays, doubling the number of performances from 2025. With improvements complete in Uptown Plaza and Sixth Street’s streetscapes, the Summer Series is back with more days, more weekends, and more opportunities to experience live music throughout Uptown New West’s unique neighbourhoods.
“Uptown Live is about getting people out to enjoy Uptown New West,” says Sheila Cameron, Executive Director of the Uptown Business Association. “We’re so excited to expand the series this year, thanks to funding support from the City of New Westminster. Adding Sundays and extending the program to 24 days means we’re creating more opportunities for the community to gather, discover local talent, and support local businesses all summer long.”
Each regular weekend will feature two buskers performing at two locations, with sites rotating throughout the summer to encourage attendees to explore different parts of Uptown. In addition to the regular programming, the 2026 series will include three expanded themed days, activating multiple locations including Uptown Plaza, Royal City Centre Shopping Centre, JJ Bean, and Rocky Point Ice Cream. Each expanded themed day will feature a unique theme: Circus & Magic (Sat, July 4), Urban Beats (Sat, July 25), and Cultural Fusion (Sat, Sept 5).

The expanded format will bring consistent vibrancy to Uptown, creating an ongoing, welcoming experience for residents and visitors this summer. Attendees are encouraged to explore with friends, discover new music, and support local businesses while enjoying free live acts throughout the streets of Uptown New West.
