The Massey Theatre is a gorgeous place to take in a play, enjoy some musical theatre, or hold a fundraising event. The full size stage has been host to a multitude of talented people and elaborate productions since its opening in 1949. The building features just over 1200 theatre seats and an art gallery named for Order of Canada recipient and New Westminster painter Joseph Plaskett. The Massey Theatre Society is an independently operating non-profit organization with a goal of supporting the arts in New Westminster, a goal that it works towards by encouraging creativity in youth and beyond with various community programs.
